Temperature-Independent Temporary Optical Coupler Using Fiber Bending Technique

This paper shows how to reduce the temperature dependence of a temporary optical coupler that enables us output signal light from bent fiber by aligning probe in path leaked and input fiber. We experimentally demonstrate coupling efficiency between fibers is significantly improved reducing misalignment these created changes. First, we confirm comparing calculation results measured values conventional structure caused difference thermal expansion components. Next, suppressed using reduces misalignment, proposed temperature-independent provides required support its application over wide range -10 50 degrees Celsius (equivalent fusion splicer) for compliant with ITU-T G. 652 657.
